Happy Earth Day | Aliterate
It's that time of the year again. The time where many people who don't care about the Earth celebrate this endangered "holiday". I remember back in 5th grade when my parents would have to sign a permission slip for our teachers to take us outside in the wilderness to hike and observe the biosphere. We just ended up going to the soccer field of our school and searching for bugs. We never really found any bugs but if we did, they were most likely dead since the girls in my grade went on bug-killing expeditions.
When my class was first introduced to Earth Day in second grade, we thought it was a joke: 1) Our teacher loved jokes (for April Fools, she told us that she brought us brownies, but instead she got brown construction paper and cut out the letter "E" twenty-one times using a template); 2) We were ignorant back then; 3) The word "Day" made Earth Day really special and we thought it would declare a day of no school, when we showed up to school, we knew it was fake.
Does anyone remember The Lorax? The whole plot was made for Earth Day and it showed how we can clean up our planet. If a couple of citizens from Thneedville want to plant a tree to make the planet clean, then I say let it grow. The Lorax or the messiah of the whole movie stands up against polluting the Earth, I wonder who that represents: Beyonce... No, Bush... No, Ice JJ Fish... Perfect. If some man who painted his entire torso orange and plucked a couple of cat hairs and stuck it on his face came knocking on your door, telling you to stop buying clothes, you'd immediately lock the door.
Just like Of course, there is no need for anyone to care for the Earth because it already cares for itself. Besides, why need to care when global warming is fake and the Earth is in the shape of a trapezoid. Common sense, am I right?
